If you are also tired of your Seikret auto running to oblivion while you are trying to open the game’s map, menu, or such thing, you must know how to stop Seikret auto running in Monster Hunter Wilds. This is where my guide comes in handy!
The Seikret in Monster Hunter Wilds is a great new addition to the game that allows players to explore the different regions and biomes a lot easier and quicker.
The Seikret is packed with quality of life features that allow players to switch weapons.
Perform attacks on the go.
Use the Seikret to perform jump attacks for a higher chance to climb up monsters.
And auto movement!
The auto movement comes in handy when you are chasing a monster or when you are trying to get to a quest objective.
It is also useful when you are following companions, as you don’t have to keep holding the buttons on your keyboard or controller.
But anything auto without much control over it is bad.
In fact, the Seikret auto movement is one of the most obnoxious things that I found while playing Monster Hunter Wilds.
And I know many of you want to know how to disable it to ensure you have control over your Seikret while playing the game.
So, keep reading as I share some handy tips that will help you disable auto-run for your Seikret in Monster Hunter Wilds.
How to stop Seikret auto-run in Monster Hunter Wilds

There are multiple ways in which you can stop the Seikret auto-run in Monster Hunter Wilds.
The first option is to press the R2 / RT button on your PlayStation or Xbox controller right when you ride the Seikret.
Doing so will stop the Seikret, and you are control is as you want.
[I have showcased the two methods in the video below.]
You can open your map, go through settings, and do whatever as your Seikret waits for you to trigger the movement.
The second way to stop your Seikret auto run is by pressing the down D-pad key to call your Seikret and then pressing the up D-pad to stop it.

Alternatively, you can also press and hold the Up D-pad twice.
The first to call the Seikret.
The second is when you are riding it.
Doing so will stop the auto-run movement.
But I still prefer using the first method as using the second method, if there is an active quest, after some time, the Seikret starts auto-navigating to it.
Monster Hunter Wilds Seikret manual movement settings

Apart from the auto-run, if you want to have more control over your Seikret and its movement speed and such things, enable manual movement for it.
To do that, first open the main menu.

Navigate to the Settings tab and select the ‘Options’ menu.

In the ‘Controls’ tab, second page, you will find “Call Seikret Controls (Radial Menu).”
By default, it is set to “Auto-Move.”
Click on it and select “Manual Movement.”
After you do that, you can control the speed of your Seikret:
- R1 / RB -> Incease Seikret speed
- R2 / RT -> Decrease Seikret speed
- R2 / RT (Hold) -> Stop Seikret
