  • You must hire Josie to unlock Medium Supplies runs for free.
  • A few Brahmin Upgrades allow you to buff the speed, making the event fast.
  • Doing Large or Medium Shipment runs is best.

If you want to unlock every new Plan Fallout 76 Milepost Zero offer and run your cargo delivery business efficiently, you must know how to farm Supplies in the game. This is where my guide comes in handy.

For players who don’t know, Supplies is a new currency introduced in Fallout 76 with the Milepost Zero update. You can use Supplies to hire new NPCs, purchase their upgrades, buy new Plans and resources, and renovate the Milepost Zero base.

More importantly, you need Supplies to get the new V63 Laser Carbine Plans and many new furniture and decorative items that you must not miss out on.

So, with that said, here are my tips on how to farm Supplies fast in Fallout 76.

Best way to improve your Supplies gain in Fallout 76 Milepost Zero

Fallout 76 Josie Brahmin Tamer

Update: Since the price of Caravan Supply Runs increases if you do back-to-back runs and many players are low on Caps, I recommend doing your share of runs and joining other players’ Caravan: Skyline Drive events. Once the event spawn slows, hop servers will keep doing other runs. After some time, you can do your share of runs again and then repeat the process.

The original article continues:

In Fallout 76, the best way to improve your Supplies gain is by hiring Josie, the Brahmin Tamer, as I mentioned in my “Which NPC you should hire the first in Milepost Zero” guide.

When you complete A Bump in the Road introductory quest and start doing Caravan Runs, you will have access to Small Shipments, as the Medium and Large ones would require Caps to run.

But once you get Josie, whom you can unlock right after completing the A Bump in the Road quest, you will get free access to the Medium-Sized Shipment runs (Only for the first run; the others will cost you Caps until refresh which happens in the same day).

Now, this brings us to the question:

How many supplies you get from shipment runs?

Well! Here’s a simple breakdown for that:

  • Small Shipment run rewards you with 10 Supplies
  • Medium Shipment run rewards you with 25 Supplies
  • Large Shipment run rewards you with 50 Supplies
  • Failing a shipment run rewards you with 5 Supplies

On the other hand, if you are joining someone else’s Caravan event, you get the following amount of Supplies based on the shipment size:

  • Small Shipment: 1 Supply
  • Medium Shipment: 3 Supplies
  • Large Shipment: 5 Supplies
  • Failing the run: 1 Supply

Now, you might wonder if failing a shipment run gives me 5 Supplies; why not keep failing the runs? You can do that if you are OK with losing Caps while acquiring Supplies very slowly.

So, I recommend hiring Josie right after completing the introductory quest and exhausting her dialogues. After that, you must do Medium Shipment runs if you are low on Caps and are low level to handle the enemies that you encounter during the Caravan event.

However, to maximize the profit, Large Shipment runs are recommended as they give you 50 Supplies. If you are having a hard time protecting the Brahmin, I recommend getting the Improved Health upgrades.

Fallout 76 Upgrade Josie Brahmin Tamer Upgrades

The first upgrade will Fortify Health by +50, along with +50 Rad Resist, and the second will Fortify Health and Rad Resist by +70. Since these upgrades stack, your Brahmin will have +120 HP and Rad Resist with these upgrades that you can get for 25 and 70 Supplies.

However, if you are able to clear the Large Shipment Caravan event without much difficulty, I recommend saving the Supplies to get the [Speed Increase] Let’s order Cattle Encourager upgrade that buffs the general speed of the Brahmin.

Other than that, you don’t need any upgrades for the Brahmin, as two main issues slow down your Supplies gain: the first is the Brahmin moving slowly, and the second is you failing to protect the Brahmin from enemies.

To sum things up:

  • Complete A Bump in the Road quest
  • Hire Josie
  • Do two Large or Medium Shipment runs
  • Get HP or Speed upgrade for your Brahmin, the latter is more important
  • Do not get any other Brahmin Upgrades
  • Farm the Medium and Large Supplies runs

How to heal your Brahmin in Fallout 76 Milepost Zero

You can get the Charisma Perk, Friendly Fire, and use a basic flamethrower to heal your Brahmin during the Caravan Shipment runs in Fallout 76.

Alternatively, if you have a weapon with the Medic Legendary Prefix, you can use it to attack the Brahmin to heal.
