  • You can get past it easily through a simple workaround.

If you cannot log into the game and are stuck at the character selection screen, I’ve got you covered with my guide on the Throne and Liberty can’t log in issue and how to fix it.

Throne and Liberty is a live-service game, and we all know that when a game is a live service, there are bound to be login and other issues.

Compared with other MMOs and live service games, Throne and Liberty still fares well.

The game offers a seamless open world brimming with players and still doesn’t crash or lag “that much.”

The game’s performance on PC and consoles is also good, considering its size and how packed the Solisium is.

However, as I said earlier, the “curse” of live service games having login and such issues cannot be avoided. They are bound to happen.

With that said, keep reading as I explain the can’t log in issue in Throne and Liberty while sharing a working fix.

Update: I have verified the fixes on Feb 18, 2025.

Throne and Liberty can’t login issue explained

The can’t log in issue is pretty much self-explanatory. What happens is that whenever a player tries to hop into the game from the character selection screen, they are stuck, and nothing happens.

Even though the internet is working, there is no maintenance going on, and players are just unable to log into the game.

There are multiple factors that stop players from logging into Throne and Liberty:

  • The game servers are down for maintenance
  • Internet not working
  • Your ISP is blocking the connection
  • Your router is bugged out and needs a soft reset
  • Your firewall is blocking the connection
  • Your DNS and VPN settings are messing up

As I said, there are many reasons a player cannot log into Throne and Liberty. The above are just a few direct ones.

How to fix can’t log in issue in Throne and Liberty

Throne and Liberty Can't Log in issue fix (2)

If you are on PS5 and are facing the can’t log in issue, you can fix it by pressing the ‘☐’ button to enter the new game > character creation menu, backing out, and then pressing and holding the ‘X’ button.

By doing so, you can log into Throne and Liberty without any issues. Even if you are not on PS5, all you have to do is follow the below steps, and you can fix the can’t log in issue:

  1. Open Throne and Liberty
  2. Enter the character selection menu
  3. Press the button for starting New Game
  4. Select a body type
  5. Once you are in character customization, back out of the menu
  6. Now, try to log into the game

The above fix will only work if there is no ongoing maintenance going on. If scheduled maintenance is underway, you will probably get the “World server disconnected” message.

In that case, you don’t need a fix!

You can log back into the game by waiting until the maintenance ends.

Many people suggest re-downloading the game. While this works in most cases, I don’t recommend it.

You should only focus on re-downloading the game in case you get frequent crashes or other issues, not for network-related issues like can’t log in.

That aside, if the above fix doesn’t work, try to soft reset your router by removing the power cable and plugging it back in.

Ensure your Firewall does not block Throne and Liberty if you are on PC.

If the issue still persists, try connecting your device to a different connection (mobile hotspot or a different wi-fi), if you are able to log in, the issue might be with your connection.
