Risky Shark Hunt is one of the six Exploration quests available in the Swamp of Silence area of the Talandre region.
While many of the Exploration quests in the area are easy to complete and have straightforward objectives, the ones in the Risky Shark Hunt quest are difficult.
Why?
Because there’s little to no handholding and no exact objective markers.
In the wake of that, many players get stuck while trying to complete the quest.
If you are one such player, keep reading as I share details on how you can unlock and complete the Risky Shark Hunt quest in Throne and Liberty.
How to unlock the Risky Shark Hunt Codex Exploration quest
In Throne and Liberty, you can unlock the Risky Shark Hunt Exploration quest by unlocking the Swamp of Silence Waypoint.
Apart from that, you must also be at level 47 or above to access the quest.
Once you meet the above two criteria, you will be able to take and complete the Risky Shark Hunt quest.
To make it active, head to the main menu -> Codex -> Exploration tab -> Talandre region -> Swamp of Silence tab -> Risky Shark Hunt.

In Throne and Liberty, the Risky Shark Hunt quest tasks you with three objectives.
These are:
- Collect The Origins of Karchars and Leviathan (0/1)
- Defeat Hammer Marshark (0/1)
- Defeat Leviathan through Peace or War Field Boss schedules or scheduled Guild Raids (0/1)
All three are hard to complete as there’s no waypoint marker.
Moreover, the quest also offers very little information on the objectives.
But don’t worry! I’ve got you covered.

Collect The Origins of Karchars and Leviathan
The Origins of Karchars and Leviathan is a Mysterious Book.
You can find it in Leviathan’s Next area at the player icon location, as shown in the above map screenshot.
Head there!
Near the skeleton, you will find the Mysterious Book.
Go near and interact to open The Origins of Karchars and Leviathan book.
Confirm to close the book and complete the quest objective.
Defeat Hammer Marshark
Hammer Marsharks are elite enemies found in the Swamp of Silence area.
So far, I have found them in the eastern part of the area.
To be exact, at the player icon location as shown in the above map screenshot.
Head there, and you will find the Hammer Marshark near a dead end.
As you can see in the above screenshot, they are hard to miss.
That aside, since the Hammer Marsharks are elite enemies, their icon also appears on the map when you are in the vicinity.

Once you find a Hammer Marshark, defeat it.
Make sure you are prepared, as I was definitely not while taking screenshots for this guide.
Once you defeat Hammer Marshark, you will complete the objective.
Defeat Leviathan through Peace or War Field Boss schedules or scheduled Guild Raids
Leviathan is a field boss that spawns in the Swamp of Silence area.
To be precise, at the arena found at the Leviathan’s Next location.
The same arena where you find The Origins of Karchars and Leviathan book.
Sadly! To complete this part of the quest, you must check the content schedule and wait until the boss is about to spawn in the arena.
Once the boss spawns, take it out with the help of other players to complete the objective.
Aside from the Risky Shark Hunt quest, I recommend farming Leviathan for high-level gear and items.
