How to switch characters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero in team battles

If using the Classic Controls, you must press the L3 + R3 button on DualSense and the Left + Right Stick on Xbox to open the character swap screen.
To switch characters in team battles in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, you must press the following button:
- PS5: Press ‘←’ D-Pad to open the character switch menu
- Press the corresponding button (‘X’ ‘△’ ‘⭘’ or ‘☐’) next to the character to switch
- To perform the switch, you must wait until the change icon is lightened
- This is done to avoid back-to-back instant switches
- Xbox: Press ‘←’ D-Pad to open the character switch menu
- Press the corresponding button (‘X’ ‘Y’ ‘A’ or ‘B’) next to the character to switch
How does switching characters help?
The switching mechanics comes in handy in many situations. The first is for saving characters low on HP but required for the win.
The second is maintaining a chain combo using different characters to overwhelm your opponent.

How to transform into Super Saiyan or others in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

If using the Classic Controls, you must press the R3 button on DualSense and the Right Stick on Xbox to open the transformation screen.
You must have the required number of Skill Counts available to transform into Super Saiyan or undergo any other transformation in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
Assuming you do have Skill Counts, you can press the below button to access the Transformation menu:
- PS5: Press ‘↑’ D-Pad to open the Transformation menu
- Press the corresponding button (‘X’ ‘△’ ‘⭘’ or ‘☐’) next to the Transformation to change
- Xbox: Press ‘↑’ D-Pad to open the Transformation menu
- Press the corresponding button (‘X’ ‘Y’ ‘A’ or ‘B’) next to the Transformation to switch
Why should you transform?
First of all! Transformation in Dragon Ball games is super cool! Secondly, by transforming, you improve your overall stats greatly.
You also get access to new skills and some old ones with nuances and improved damage and animation.
How to perform Fusion in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

If using the Classic Controls, you must press the R3 button on DualSense and the Right Stick on Xbox to open the transformation screen and then press the R1 or L1 button or RB or LB to switch to the Fusion panel.
Similar to the Transformation, you must have the required Skill Count to perform Fusion in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.
Once you have it, you can press the following buttons to fuse with another character in your team:
- PS5: Press ‘↑’ D-Pad to open the Transformation menu and then press ‘L1’ or ‘R1’ to bring up the Fusion menu
- Select the Fusion partner by pressing the corresponding button (‘X’ ‘△’ ‘⭘’ or ‘☐’) next to the character
- Xbox: Press ‘↑’ D-Pad and then press ‘LB’ or ‘RB’ to bring up the Fusion menu
- Press the button (‘X’ ‘Y’ ‘A’ or ‘B’) next to the Fusion partner
Can you revert back to normal characters after Fusion?
No! Like the previous games, you cannot split back once you perform Fusion.
Why should you perform Fusion?
Apart from the new set of abilities and improved stats you get after performing a Fusion, you also recover a ton of your HP.
So, let’s say that the two characters who can fuse have low HP. If you perform the Fusion, the new form will have a higher HP.
