Don’t know how to get Widow’s Lanter from the dead horse at Vandorn Farm in Ashes of the Damned in Black Ops 7 Zombies? No worries. I’ve got you covered.
Widow’s Lantern is the mushroom-like item and one of the six key items that you need for making the Serum required to progress the Ashes of the Damned main quest easter egg.
Finding the other items for the Serum, like the Jar of Spores and the Ravager’s Eye, is relatively easy compared to others, like Widow’s Lantern.
With the most difficult ones being Powder of the Forgotten, Mysterious Limb, and one other for which you need the Abomination Carcass upgrade for Tessie.
That said, just like steps like spawning Uber Klaus, freeing Klaus, finding and charging Aether Barrel, solving the cube symbol puzzle and so on, there are no hints or clear instructions on how to get the Widow’s Lantern.
Moreover, there’s a particular spawn criteria for it that you must know about. This is where my guide comes in handy.
How to get Widow’s Lantern in Ashes of the Damned
To get the Widow’s Lantern key item in the Ashes of the Damned map in Black Ops 7 Zombies, you must interact with a dead horse with fungus on it in Vandorn Farm and progress a few rounds.
Head to the above player icon location, and you will find the dead horse.
The one that you see in the above screenshot is from which you can get Widow’s Lantern.
If you interact with it, a glow should appear in the middle. If not, it means, you don’t have the Jar of Spores on you.
So head to Black Water Lake POI and make your way inside the main cabin.
In the kitchen, in one of the cupboards, you will find the Jar of Spores. The one you see in the above screenshot.
Assuming you have the Jar of Spores on you, interact with the dead horse.

Now, all you need to do is progress through two or three rounds. You can either stay in Vandorn Farm or do other easter egg steps, as staying there is not mandatory.
Once a few rounds have passed, return, and you will see the Widow’s Lantern is ready to be grabbed.
