Did you know there is a series of side quests leading to a hidden boss named Horatio in Borderlands 4’s Dominion City that doesn’t appear on the in-game map and only triggers when you interact with certain objects?
Borderlands 4 offers a wide range of side missions. Among them, a few are hidden and don’t appear on the map, while some, like Vend of the Line, have more than one ending.
While some of these side quests have their own respective trophies/achievements, while also offering decent rewards, a few, like Horatio’s questline, don’t offer much, other than the fact that you must complete them to unlock the Grassroots Campaigner trophy/achievement.
And since his quest is well hidden, I thought, why not write a walkthrough on it? So here I am.
Borderlands 4 Horatio’s questline key points
Here are some basic details on Horatio’s questline that you should know about:
- Total quests in the questline: 3
- The Neverending Quarry
- A Quarry of Epic Proportions
- The Final Quarrel
- Are the quests replayable? No
- Does Horatio have dedicated drops? No
- Does the boss spawn after the quest? No
- Pre-requisite: The Falling Wall main quest [To access Dominion]

Borderlands 4 Horatio’s secret questline walkthrough
Each of the three quests in Haratio’s questline requires you to interact with an object and defeat enemies spawned in the area.
Here’s where you can find these quests and the order in which you can complete them:
The Neverending Quarry
The first quest is called The Neverending Quarry, and you can trigger it by interacting with a Red Weapon Chest found at the above marked location in the Terminus District.
It is near the Ironwall Resolve Order Bunker, in the Praetor’s Lecture area.
Head there and you will find a Red Chest in the middle of the area where the arrow is pointing.
Interact with it to start The Neverending Quarry quest.
Once Horatio is done talking, a few enemies will spawn in the same area.
Defeat them to complete the quest.
A Quarry of Epic Proportions
The next quest in Horatio’s questline is A Quarry of Epic Proportions, which you can trigger by interacting with a fake Vending Machine found at the above marked location.
To get there, teleport to the Frantic Scrawl teleport waypoint.
After you spawn, head straight and take the stairs on the left side.
Once again, head straight and take the path on the left side as marked in the above screenshot.
Follow the path and at the end of it, you will spot the fake Vending Machine.
Interact with it.
After Horatio is done speaking, the quest will trigger and once again, the only objective is to defeat the enemies in the area.
Defeat them. A few are also found outside. So make sure to take them out, too.
Once done, the current quest will be completed, unlocking the final one.
The Final Quarrel
The final quest in Horatio’s questline is The Final Quarrel, which you can trigger by interacting with a weirdly placed garbage container at the above marked location.
Teleport to the nearby Safe House. Once you spawn in The Food Court area, take the stairs on the right side, then a left and then the path on the right side.
Sounds confusing? Just follow the path I have marked in the above screenshot.
At the end of the room, you will find the Garbage Container.
Interact with it to trigger The Final Quarrel side mission.
This time around, Horatio himself will ambush you.
Defeat him to complete the quest.
