Whether you are looking for Fuel Tanks or Gas Canisters in Fallout 76, I’ve got you covered with this guide.
Both Fuel Tanks and Gas Canisters are Junk items in FO76 that players can scrap to get Oil and Steel.
While some players do farm them for scrapping, most of the time, you need them for completing Daily, Weekly, or event-related challenges.
For players who don’t know, just like items such as Canned Coffee, Cajun Rice & Beans, Imitation Seafood, Blamco Brand Mac and Cheese, InstaMash, Microscope, etc., Fuel Tanks and Gas Canisters are often a part of challenges where you are tasked to find and collect either one.
For example, in Daily Challenges, it is basically Collect a Fuel Tank or Gas Canister (0/2). And while it seems like a common item you can easily find, trust me: when you need it most, you will not even remember where to look.
So, to help players out, I prepared this guide with the best locations to find both Fuel Tanks and Gas Canisters in Fallout 76.
Best spawn locations for Fuel Tanks and Gas Canisters in FO76
Here are some of the best locations where you can find both Fuel Tanks and Gas Canisters:
Toxic Larry’s Meat ‘n Go

The Toxic Larry’s Meat ‘n Go POI is one of the best spots for finding Fuel Tanks and Gas Canisters. Especially the latter, as you can find around five to six here. Teleport there.

Once you spawn at Toxic Larry’s Meat ‘n Go, take the stairs and head inside.

To the left of the stairs leading to the first floor, you will find three Gas Canisters. Collect two for the challenge and leave the rest for others. If you need more, collect all.

Now, from the stairs, turn right, and you will spot the Fuel Tank. Collect it. After that, head to the first floor.

In the outer area of the first floor, near the BBQ grill, you will find another Gas Canister. Now, move to the roof.

To the left of the shelf, you will find one more Gas Canister.
Bloody Frank’s

Bloody Frank’s is yet another great spawn location for Gas Canisters and Fuel Tanks. Especially Fuel Tanks, as you can find more than eight here.

Teleport to Bloody Frank’s and start from the marked spot as shown in the screenshot above.

Your goal is to reach the kitchen area where you will find six to seven Fuel Tanks. But check the ramparts, as the Gas Canister and Fuel Tanks also spawn there.

Start from the starting point I marked. From there, keep following the main path. You will spot the first Gas Canister to the left of the small stairs.

Cross the bridge to find more Gas Canisters and a Fuel Tank.

Collect both. After that, keep following the path ahead.

It will eventually lead you to the big mess area that I marked earlier.

You will find Fuel Tanks all around the mess area.

Collect the required number and leave the rest for other players.
That sums up the best locations to find Gas Canisters and Fuel Tanks in Fallout 76. If the guide helped, consider buying me a coffee.
