In Search of Moonlit Butterfly is one of the seven exploration quests in the Forest of the Great Tree area.
You can find it in the Talandre region, the one added with the Wilds of Talandre free DLC.
Similar to exploration quests like Rescue the Bride in Distress that unlock a new Guardian, In Search of Moonlit Butterfly is also a unique and important quest as it unlocks a new title and glide morph.
While the quest is small and has only three objectives, with two being talking to an NPC creature, there’s one objective where many players get stuck.
I am talking about finding and collecting the Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly section.

How to unlock In Search of Moonlit Butterfly exploration quest
In Throne and Liberty, you can unlock the In Search of Moonlit Butterfly quest by unlocking the Forest of the Great Tree waypoint.
Once you do that, assuming you are at level 46 or above, you will be able to access the said quest via the Exploration tab of the Codex.
For new players, here’s how you can do that: Go to the main menu > Codex > Exploration tab > Talandre region > Forest of the Great Tree tab > In Search of Moonlit Butterfly.

In Search of Moonlit Butterfly is a small quest that has only three sub-stories or objectives, whatever you like to say.
Here’s a look at them:
- Speak with Dreamie the Wolpertinger at The Great Sage Tree
- Collect the Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly flying around mountain top at night (0/3)
- Speak with Dreamie the Wolpertinger at The Great Sage Tree
As you can see, the only challenging part here in this quest is finding and collecting the Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly.
As for the other two, it requires talking to a Wolpertinger NPC who is easy to reach.
Still, for the sake of the walkthrough, I have shared complete details on how you can complete each section below.

Speak with Dreamie the Wolpertinger at The Great Sage Tree
You can find Dreamie at the Great Sage Tree settement at the above location.
To reach his location, teleport to the Great Sage Tree Waypoint and turn around.
Go towards the stairs leading to the lower floor.
Stand near the edge, and you will spot Dreamie as you can see in the above screenshot.
Glide to his location and talk to him to progress the quest.

Now comes the real challenge!
Finding and collecting Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly.
Thankfully, as you can see in the above map screenshot, these Silver Kaleidoscope Butterflies are close to Dreamie and the Great Sage Tree’s location.
The difficult part? They are flying in the sky and are hard to reach.
Go to the Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly’s location that appears on the map and take the path on the right side.
At the end of the path, on the left side, you will find a climbable structure, as I have marked on the above screenshot.
Use it to scale the mountain.
As you climb, you will see the Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly are within your reach.
Still! Keep climbing.
Once you reach the top at the location I am standing in the above screenshot, glide towards the leftmost Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly.
To collect the Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly, all you have to do is touch them while gliding.
If you glide from left to right, you will be able to collect them all in one run.
Still, if you fall or aren’t able to collect all three Silver Kaleidoscope Butterflies in one go, you can climb again and repeat the process.
As you can see in the above screenshot, I was able to collect two Silver Kaleidoscope Butterflies in one go.
I had to repeat the process to collect the last Silver Kaleidoscope Butterfly.
Speak with Dreamie the Wolpertinger at The Great Sage Tree #2
The last objective in the quest is to report back to Deamie.
Head back to his location and talk to him.
Once you do that, you will complete the quest and unlock the Wolpertinger morph.

How to get and use the Loret Wolpertinger morph in Throne and Liberty
You can unlock the Wolpertinger morph in Throne and Liberty by completing the In Search of Moolit Butterfly exploration quest.
If you have followed the guide so far, you will be able to complete it with ease.
Now, to equip the Wolpertinger morph, all you must do is open the main menu and head to the Morph menu.
Once there, go to the “Glide” section.
Select Loret Wolpertinger and press and hold the respective button to “Add Designated Morph.”
That is it. Now, when you glide, you will be able to use the Loret Wolpertinger morph.
