For players who don’t know, with The Edge of Fate DLC, Destiny 2 got a massive rework, changing multiple systems that were already in place and never required changes.
Among them, the NPC vendors who previously rewarded players with Legacy Gear for farming different activities, provided they had the respective DLCs purchased, now offer them for free.
And since there’s no longer any big reason to return to The Tower and talk to these NPCs, many players don’t know about this.

How to get Legacy Gear for free in Destiny 2
In Destiny 2, you can get the Legacy Armor and Weapons from Zavala, Lord Shanxx, and Saint 14 in exchange for Glimmer and Enhancement Cores at the Tower.
Legacy Gear from Zavala
To get Legacy Gear from Zavala, head to The Tower’s Courtyard area and make your way to Zavala’s usual spot.
Talk to Zavala.
Select the Legacy Gear option.
Now, go through all the Legacy Gear and acquire the ones that you want using Glimmer and Enhancement Cores.
Legacy Gear from Lord Shaxx
To get Legacy Gear from Lord Shaxx, make your way towards his usual spot.
Talk to him.
Select the Legacy Gear option.
Get the Legacy Gear that you want.
Legacy Gear from Saint 14
To get Legacy Gear from Saint-14, head to the Hangar area of The Tower.
Talk to Saint-14.
Select the Legacy Gear option.
Acquire the ones that you want.
How to get to The Tower in Destiny 2
After the introduction of the new Portal system, to get to The Tower, first, click on the ‘Open Portal’ button.
Select the World tab.
Select Tower.
Select the Landing Zone to teleport.
