When you reach Lake Cynon, the fourth area in the game, for the first time as a part of the Family Reunion main quest, you come across a puzzle on the other side of the blue flower field.
To progress the main story, you must solve the puzzle and unflood the area to get to the Lymbic Forge.
You also need to unflood it for additional side quests and exploration stuff like Lymbic Vault, for obtaining the Pair of Keys – Keys – Algae item required for a Mystery, etc.
But as always, solving the glowing pillar puzzle is not as simple as it sounds.
That is why I am here with this detailed guide talking about how you can solve the Lake Cynon glowing pillar puzzle in the blue flower field in Hell Is Us.
Hell Is Us Lake Cynon puzzle hints
The Lake Cynon puzzle is associated with the Blue Flower Scroll that you obtain from the Tomb of Pentos Algea inside Vigil’s Hideout, aka Watcher’s Nest.
Once you obtain the Blue Flower Scroll and take it to Tania inside the APC, you will get a pop-up saying ‘New Usable Item Acquired – Blue Flower Scroll.’
Open it via your Datapad’s ‘Investigation’ Item section, and you will see the same pool and the glowing pillars that you find in Lake Cynon in the flower fields.
The scroll hints that all pillars must be glowing.
As for which order, you can find hints for that near the puzzle itself.
How to solve the Blue Flower Scroll puzzle in Lake Cynon in Hell Is Us
To solve the glowing pillar puzzle in Lake Cynon, you must hit the five pillars in the correct order.
The first pillar you must hit is the one on the left side as you approach the pool.
The one you see in the above screenshot.
The second pillar that you must hit is the one that is found right opposite the first one.
The one I am showing in the above screenshot.
The third pillar that you must hit is the one found on the other side of the pool, near the stairs, as shown in the above screenshot.
The fourth pillar you must hit is the one right opposite to it, as shown in the above screenshot.
The last pillar you must hit is the one on the platform that you can reach via the stairs.

In case my instructions were not that clear, I have marked the correct order in which you must hit the pillars in the above screenshot.
Once you do, the small circular vault near the pool will open up, along with a mechanism coming out of the ground near the pool.
From the vault, you must collect the Gear – Spindle investigation item.
Now, go to the mechanism near the water pool and interact with it.
Use the Gear – Spindle to rotate the cog-whell.
Once done, the Blue Flower Scroll item will be updated, the water from the pool will be gone, and you will be able to explore the massive area below it.
